Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Manager to lead the development and growth of an Afrocentric and sustainable fashion brand. This role involves overseeing all aspects of product development, budgeting, marketing, and staff management to ensure the brand’s success. You will be responsible for spearheading the creation of cohesive and sustainable collections that embody Afrocentric design, while working closely with the founders to perfect the vision and ensure the brand thrives.
Key Responsibilities
● Budget Management: Develop and manage a comprehensive budget for the production of new collections, from design to fabric sourcing, production, and launch.
● Design Collaboration: Work closely with the founders to perfect design inspirations, ensuring alignment with Afrocentric values and sustainable practices.
● Production Coordination: Oversee the entire production process, including sourcing materials, managing contractors and vendors, and ensuring timely product launches.
● Sales and Marketing: Coordinate marketing strategies and sales processes, including retail, door-to-door, and social media marketing.
● Supplier Management: Source high-quality clothing materials and accessories, and cultivate professional relationships with suppliers to ensure sustainable and ethical sourcing.
● Staff Management: Manage a team of contractors, vendors, and staff, including tailors and other support staff.
● Brand Protection: Safeguard the company’s brand identity by ensuring that all products and marketing efforts align with the brands core values.
● Sustainability: Ensure that all aspects of production adhere to sustainable fashion practices and work toward further developing the brands sustainability initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
Education
● A Bachelors or Master’s degree is an advantage but not a strict requirement. Some form of relevant education is required.
Experience
● Relevant experience managing a successful fashion brand (a minimum of 2 years is preferable), with exposure to multiple African markets being a significant advantage.
● Experience in brand marketing and sales, including retail, door-to-door, and social media marketing.
● Proven experience managing staff, especially within the fashion industry (including tailors and domestic staff).
● Extensive knowledge of sourcing materials for fashion production and interacting with suppliers. Strong understanding of the fashion materials and accessories market.
● Demonstrated success in building a fashion brand from the ground up.
● Basic knowledge of sustainable fashion practices is required, with a willingness to further develop expertise in this area.
● Sales experience, including client management and interpersonal relationship building.

Location
The role is based in Lagos and Oyo State, Nigeria, and will involve managing teams across these locations.
